
How do I register? Top
Please follow the below steps to register with Buy and Sell:
- Click on the Register Button located at the top of Buy and Sell.
- Once clicked, you will be given a form to fill out with your user information.

- When choosing a username and password (minimum 6 characters and/or numbers), please choose something that is easy to remember. You will also be required to provide a secret question and answer (used to retrieve username and password information).
- You must agree to our user agreement before joining Buy and Sell.
- Once all information has been entered, Click Send.
- After clicking send, you will be asked to verify your email address. Click Send, and an email will be sent to your address to verify that it is correct.

- Within the email you will find a link (continue registering), you must click on this link to continue with your registration.
- Once clicked, you will be given a form to enter your credit card information.

- Fill in the appropriate information, and click send.
If your credit card is approved,
membership will be complete.
- You have successfully registered with Buy and Sell.
I lost my Password...What now? Top
If you have lost your password, you may visit our Lost Password section and answer the secret question you chose when you signed up. Your email will be forwarded to you via email.
Why can't I log-in to my account? Top
Comman Problems With Login
- Users forget their usernames and/or passwords.
- Typing extra spaces at the end/beginning of their usernames or passwords.
- Users sign up with another service such as buysell.com & try to login to Buy and Sell.
- Typing in the wrong username and/or password.
- Problems at the user end (computer malfunction, ISP problems etc.)

In order to have a membership with Buy and Sell, you must become a member.

How many postings do I get? Top
When you sign up with Buy and Sell, you
can post unlimited postings...each sale is free. View our fee schedule. Ad credits must be used with one month. Ad credits cannot be carried over from month to month.
How do I change my posting? Top
First you must sign-in to your account.
1. Click on "Items I am Selling"
2. Locate the ad you want to change & click on it
3. Once you have made the appropriate changes, click post
4. Your ad will be changed immediately.
How do I edit my account information? Top
First you must sign-in to your account.
1. Click on the edit button, next to "edit member profile"
2. Once you have made the appropriate changes, click edit
3. Your profile will be changed immediately.
How do I delete a posting? Top
Members do not have the option to delete an ad. Ads will automatically be removed after 30 days. If your item sells before the 30 days, you may place a SOLD sign on it. You may do this through the "items I am selling" section of your account.
1. Click on "items I am selling"
2. Locate the ad that you want to place a sold sign on, Click it
3. Place a check mark in the option "check if Sold"
4. Click Post.
5. Your ad will be changed immediately
Why can't I upload a picture? Top
In order to successfully upload a picture, the picture must be in JPG or JPEG format. We do not accept .gif format. A picture should be a least 100 pixels X 100 pixels.
What does the revised sign mean? Top
When the Revised Sign appears by an item, it means that the item has been changed. The user may have changed the price, text, or uploaded a new picture.
How can I advertise on your site? Top
Buy-and-sell.com receives thousands of hits per day. If you would like to take advantage of this high volume of traffic, simply have your banner ad rotate on our frontpage. How do I search? Top
Quick Search - From every Buy and Sell page you may make a quick search. Just type in a keyword, and click go. This will give you a list of all ads with the keyword present.
Advanced Search - Our advanced search (Search ads button) allows you to define a preset of parameters. Search by: Keyword, for sale or wanted ads, Category, Country, City, and Price range.

Reports of Fraud Top
If Buy and Sell receives a report of fraud, we will investigate the user in question. If fraud is found the user will be removed from Buy and Sell. Please read our terms and conditions.
Downtime & Maintenance Top
Sometimes Buy and Sell may experience downtime. Site maintenance occurs at regular intervals during the year, which may in turn cause temporary downtime. It is neccessary for Buy and Sell to perform regular maintenance, as this allows us to improve our services. We try to limit this activity to the best of our ability.

Send Money
Send Money let's you pay anyone with an email address. You just enter the recipient's email address and the amount you wish to send. You can pay with a credit card or checking account.
The recipient gets an email that says "You’ve Got Cash!" Recipients can then collect their money by clicking a link in the email. NOTE: In order to send money, you must become a member of paypal.
Receive Money
Request Money offers you an organized method to request and track funds. To send an auction invoice or a personal bill, just enter the recipient's email address and the amount you wish to request. The recipient gets an email and pays you at www.paypal.com. NOTE: In order to request money you must become a member of paypal.

How am I notified of offers? Top
When a buyer wishes to make an offer, and email will be sent to the address you provided when signing up.
If your email should change, please make sure to update your user profile. You may do this through your account page.
How long will my posting last? Top
Postings last 30 days. After the 30 days the ad will automatically be deleted. Ads cannot be carried over from month to month.
How do I keep track of my postings? Top
Buy and Sell allows it's members to view Items they are selling, through "my account". You can keep track of your postings by clicking "Items I am Selling".
How many visits did my ad get? Top
Members can view how many hits their ads get. You may do this through "Items I am selling".
1. Login to your account
2. Click on "Items I am Selling"
3. Under each ad you will notice a number. This is the amount of hits your ad has received.
I received an offer...What now? Top
When a seller receives an offer it is up to him/her to negotiate price, terms, shipping, etc. Buy and Sell is only a Venue, and helps with the finding of buyers.
I sold my item...What now? Top
When a seller sells his/her item he may place a Sold sign on it.
1. Make sure you are logged in to your account
2. Click on "Items I am Selling"
3. Locate the item you have sold, click on it
4. Place a checkmark in the box marked "Check if Sold" & Click Post
5. Your item will bare a Sold Sign.
When a seller Sells and item it is up to him/her to negotiate terms, shipping, etc. Buy and Sell is only a Venue, and helps with the finding of buyers.
The Sold Ad will be automatically deleted after a 30 day period.
What are some tips for selling? Top
The following are tips to better your chances of a Quick Sale
Be Detailed
Create detailed descriptions of your items. The more information you provide, the less likely user will be to ask questions. Be accurate and Honest. This will cause less unsatisfied buyers.
Get the Category Right
Make sure to place your ad in the appropriate Category. ex. How will users find your car, if it is located in Hobbies! Only list items in MISC if it is absolutely neccessary. This category is reserved for unique items that just do not fit anywhere.
ADD A PICTURE TO YOUR LISTING
It is a fact that pictures are worth a thousand words. Make sure to include a picture of the item you are selling. Your chances will double. TIP: If you are selling "lets say a Sony VEGA" and you don't have a picture, try searching for a picture of the model you are selling on the internet. Take that picture and post it with your ad. Please be sure to explain that the picture is a representation of the item you are selling.
Make sure the price is Right!
Be sure to list items at a fair price. Overcharging for items make a difficult sale. Shop around. Check out what others are selling similar items for on the internet.
Post that listing ONLY once
Buy and Sell does not tolerate listings to be placed more than once, or in several places at one time. Posting the same listing in several areas and/or several times is considered "Spam" and is annoying to buyers. If Buy and Sell notices this type of activity, we will gives out warnings. If the activity persists the user will be suspended from using Buy and Sell.
Be kind to customers
Treat customers with respect and consideration, this will buld your reputation as an ideal seller. Customers will be more likely to purchase from you again.
Can I use paypal to accept Credit Cards? Top
Paypal is a popular choice for people selling on classified ad services or auction sites. Paypal allows a member to accept Credit Card payments without having their own mechant. Membership to paypal is free, the will charge you are percentage for the final sale. Visit Paypal for more information on how it works.
NOTE: Buy and Sell will be offering this option to members in the near future. Members of Buy and Sell who are Paypal Members, will be able to have a button show up on their ad "Pay with Paypal".

How do I buy
an item? Top
1. Locate the item you wish to purchase, and click
2. Click the make and offer button
3. Fill out the offer form, Include the amount you are willing to pay. Click Submit
4. Your offer will be sent immediately

Why didn't I get a response for my offer? Top
It is up to the seller to decide if he/she wants to respond to your offer. TIP: When making offers, Do not offer way below the market value of an item. Only do so if you know the item is not worth as much as the seller is asking. Only make an offer if you are really serious about purchasing the item.
The seller accepted offer...What now? Top
If the seller accepts your offer, reply back requesting details on shipping and payment details. It is up to the seller and buyer to determine these terms. NOTE: buy-and-sell.com acts as a classified service for Members to locate people to buy and sell.
What if I have problems with a seller? Top
If you are having difficulties with a seller on
buy-and-sell.com, contact the seller to discuss the issue. Most disagreements are simple misunderstandings.
NOTE:
Buy and Sell acts as a classified ad service... much like your local paper. All dealings are between the seller and buyer. Buy and Sell acts as a VENUE ONLY. Buy and Sell has no control over the ads that members place, and cannot control or guarantee the accuracy of the items. It is the users responsibility to use good judgement when buying from others, as with any classified service.
Warning:Please remember - Before purchasing anything online and sending any money, make sure you have the sellers full contact information. This includes a valid phone number, address, email address and full name.
Some sellers may have their address listed as somewhere in North America but ask you to send the money to somewhere in Europe or Asia. This is obviously a scam.

1. distant seller requests payment via Western Union or MoneyGram:
- seller often claims that an MTCN or confirmation code is needed before he can withdraw your money - this is FALSE, once you've wired money, it is GONE. - Common items currently: laptops, plasma TV's, cell phones, tickets - Common countries currently include: Romania, Ukraine, Spain, UK, Italy - deal often seems too good to be true
2. distant seller offers to send you a cashier's check and then have you wire money: - this is always a scam, in our experience - the cashier's check is FAKE - sometimes accompanies an offer of merchandise, sometimes not - scammer often asks for your name, address, etc for printing on the fake check - deal oftern seems too good to be true
3. distant seller suggests use of an online escrow service: - most online escrow sites are fraudulent, operated by scammers - for more information, do a google search on "fake escrow" or "escrow fraud" - if you must do business with a distant seller, insist on a legitimate service, such as www.escrow.com
4. distant seller asks for a partial payment upfront, after which he will ship goods: - he says he trusts you with the partial payment - he may say he has already shipped the goods - deal often sounds too good to be true
We've blocked a lot of IP ranges, had numerous scammer accounts shut down, and are working with officials in attempt to curtail these kind of scams...in the meantime, it's BUYER BEWARE!

If you feel that this problem cannot be resolved, you may have to seek stronger action. There are companies online which deal with dispute resolution, to avoid costly legal fees. Certainly. You would place a wanted ad the same way you post an ad for sale.
How do I ask the seller a question? Top
You may ask the seller a question 3 ways.
1. Send him a message via email, by locating his email address in his user information.
2. If he provides a phone number, you may wish to speak with him.
3. If the user does not supply this information, you may click the make an offer button, and fill out the appropriate information.
